Time Zone

Time zone is a critically important workspace setting. An incorrect time zone leads to data discrepancies with ad accounts.

Where it comes from

When a workspace is created, LightLead tries to determine your time zone automatically (based on the browser). You can change it in settings at any time.

Effect on the report period

When you select a period preset, LightLead uses the workspace's time zone:

  • Today: from 00:00 to the current moment in the workspace's time zone
  • Yesterday: yesterday's date in the workspace's time zone
  • Last 7 days: the last 7 calendar days in the workspace's time zone

Example: your time zone is UTC+3, it's currently 10:00 on July 15. The "Today" preset = data from 00:00 on July 15 UTC+3.

Effect on scheduling

Report schedules also run on the workspace's time zone:

  • Daily reports run around 00:01 in the workspace's time zone
  • Weekly reports run around 00:01 on the selected day of the week
  • Hourly reports run every hour in the workspace's time zone

The meaning of "today" and "yesterday"

It's important to understand that "today" in LightLead means "today" in the workspace's time zone, not UTC or the ad account's time zone.

If your Meta Ads account is in UTC-7 (California) but the workspace is in UTC+3 (Moscow), then:

  • "Today" in LightLead (UTC+3) ends 7 hours earlier than "today" in Meta Ads (UTC-7)
  • This can cause data discrepancies of up to 7 hours

Recommendation: set the workspace time zone to match the time zone of most of your ad accounts.

What changes when you change the time zone

  • All reports using date presets will use the new time zone on their next run
  • Schedules are recalculated for the new time zone
  • Historical data is NOT recalculated — it retains the time zone that was active at the time it was recorded

If you change the time zone

  1. Check upcoming reports — dates may shift
  2. If you use attribution — check that dates align between ad and CRM data
  3. If needed, rerun reports with the new time zone

Recommendation

If your ad accounts are in different time zones, use a custom date range (rather than presets like "today"/"yesterday") for accuracy.
